Ubuntu pulled a windows

I try not to recall the number of times I have innocently restarted my computer only for Windows XP to fail to boot for no apparent reason. This is one of the reasons I gave up on Windows. But to my disbelief, Ubuntu did the same exact thing to me last night. Fortunately though, the community was quick to release a tutorial for fixing the problem. With only two commands:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-coreMy computer was back to working shape I can't say the same for my past experiences with XP...
